A throbbing metropolis by day and something quite different by night.
The clock strikes seven and Nairobi morphs right before your eyes.
Taking a stroll through the streets for the first time feels like being
let in on a secret, on something that’s guarded, something that’s
privileged.
It’s hard to believe that this otherwise typical city would impress you
so much once darkness sets in. It’s like when that person known for his
rice-water personality is unexpectedly witty, insightful and slick.
Do you fancy a rooftop shoot? well this definitely the place to be. Do the people around you prevent your inner narcissist from thriving? Haha...we will provide a safe haven for you.
The thought of the city’s bright lights and vibrant clubbing culture all fueling her enthusiasm. It might be the promise of a blooming intimacy for the couple that go out on a date, unsure of what the future holds. This city by night stirs up something in you. Something akin to a carnal hunger. A hunger to explore. It might be its visual appeal drawing you in. It might be the knowledge of the danger lurking in the shadows that sets off that rush…like a giant flytrap you willingly walk into. But comparing it to a flytrap seems like giving it too much edge. A tease would be more appropriate. It makes you rise to the occasion. Nairobi by night brings with it a whole string of expectations and with it broken hearts and realized dreams, joy and sorrow, advancement and frustration all in the same breathe.
That’s Nairobi for you, the very definition of forthright. Knowing this,
the question at the end of the day is…are you still enchanted? Do you
still feel the need to go out and venture into the city with the bright
lights? Yes? Well you’ll just have to chase the sunset ;)
The best part about Nairobi is that the transformation catches you off-guard.
It’s hard to believe that this otherwise typical city would impress you
so much once darkness sets in.
